Amenities & Facilities
Located in The Crags, at the foot of a rugged mountain range outside Plettenberg Bay
The secluded and peaceful farm-style retreats of Redford and Rondebosch Estates present a unique way to explore the wonders of the Garden Route and its surrounds. Both of these farm style venues offer tranquillity, a return to simplicity and laid-back comfort.
Redford Farm Country House is a 220-hectare wine and polo estate situated at the end of the Redford Road in The Crags. The estate has five-hectares of beautiful vineyards, and beyond the property lies the breathtaking, mountainous terrain of Keurboom’s River Nature Reserve and Forestry. Redford Road has become the wine route of Plettenberg Bay, with Brammon Wine Estate becoming the best known in the area. Newer estates, Newstead and Rondebosch, are supporting Brammon with their vineyards and winemaking activities.
The Redford and Rondebosch estates adjoin the well known Kurland Hotel and Polo Estate, the main venue for international polo tournaments during the summer months, including the famous Kurland International held each December. The estate has three separate stable blocks, a training track, two arenas, a full-size polo field, a stick-and-ball field and 100-hectares of irrigated horse paddocks. Activities offered on the property include polo, horse riding, mountain bike trails, quad biking, hiking trails, bird watching and fishing. The Garden Route region offers a mix of attractions including Monkey Land, The Elephant Sanctuary, Plettenberg Bay and Nature’s Valley.
